Terry Robb wins 2019 Northwest Recording of the Year
By vote of his peers Terry Robb was awarded the 2019 Muddy Award for Northwest Recording of the Year by the Cascade Blues Association for his latest album Confessin’ My Dues. The award comes on the heals of worldwide critical acclaim and airplay.
The annual awards event was held November 6 at the Alberta Rose Theater in Portland, Oregon, where Robb and other nominees gave riveting performances. Terry Currier, proprietor of Music Millennium and a Portland music icon in his own right, presented the award. Robb’s fellow nominees include Lloyd Jones and Rich Layton.
Robb has received numerous awards from the Cascade Blues Association. He was welcomed into the CBA Hall of Fame in 1993, and in 2017 he received the Muddy Award for Lifetime Achievement. In 2011, the CBA honored him with the “Terry Robb” Muddy Award for Acoustic Guitar, after he single-handedly won the prize for 19 consecutive years. At the awards ceremony November 6, Robb presented his namesake award to fellow acoustic blues guitarist Mary Flower.
Congratulations to all 2019 Muddy award winners and nominees!
