Terry Robb featured in Hollywood film score
“Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot,” a Gus Van Sant film about the life of John Callahan, features the music of the late cartoonist and Terry Robb. Released by Amazon Studios in 2018 to critical acclaim, the film’s star-studded cast includes Joaquin Phoenix as John Callahan, Jonah Hill, Rooney Mara and Jack Black.
In 2008, Callahan and Robb teamed up for Callahan’s musical debut, Purple Winos in the Rain, an album produced by and featuring Robb on acoustic and bottleneck guitars. Their duet recording “Texas When You Go” was selected from the album for inclusion in the film score and appears as song number 22 in the motion picture soundtrack.
Callahan was the subject of a 2007 documentary film “Touch Me Someplace I Can Feel” which included footage of the album’s recording sessions. Longtime friends until Callahan’s death in 2010, Robb and Callahan’s first collaboration came in 1986 when Callahan designed the cover art for Robb’s debut solo album Next Window..
